Sunbud is built around a simple idea: your data stays on your device. We don't have servers, accounts, or analytics profiles. Here is exactly what happens with your information.
Your skin type, sun goal, sessions, streaks, and preferences are stored only on your iPhone (and shared with the Sunbud widget on the same device). Nothing is uploaded anywhere. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
Sunbud asks for your location for one purpose: fetching the UV index and weather for where you are. Your coordinates are sent directly from your device to Apple Weather (WeatherKit) to retrieve the forecast — the same service Apple's own Weather app uses. Sunbud never tracks you in the background, never stores a history of your locations, and never shares your location with anyone else.
All reminders (morning sun brief, SPF top-ups, shade alerts) are scheduled locally on your device. No push servers are involved.
Sunbud Premium is processed entirely by Apple through your App Store account. We never see your payment details. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Sunbud provides general sun-exposure guidance based on the WHO UV index and Fitzpatrick skin-type model. It is not medical advice. For concerns about your skin, please talk to a healthcare professional.
